pretty. soapy water works for getting rid of them. the way it was explained to me is that the soap breaks the molecular bonds that are also responsible for surface tension. the water can then get through the shell and they pretty much drown. all i know is that i went out with a squirt bottle of soapy water and they died, works on squash bugs too.
