Arrow Shafts

Couple weeks ago I ordered 13 maple shafts, plus 3 thrown in free, to make some good hardwood arrows. I hate Port Orford Cedar arrows, too light, too weak, and way too expensive. So I figured while I was at it I'd take a few sorta WIP pictures.
This is an unstained shaft (left) and a shaft after staining (right). I used Minwax dark walnut stain and Minwax waterbased Polycrylic to seal them. I thought about staining and sealing them naturally but I'm feeling impatient for some arrows so....
